Valentine's Day Poem

Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,

A medley of extemporanea;

And love is a thing that can never go wrong,

And I am Marie of Roumania.

I don't even have to comment on this article from the LA Times about a new major in homemaking (for women only, of course) at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. So much in the article speaks for itself. Painful excerpts below: Seminary President Paige Patterson and his wife, Dorothy --…
Via Kate, a call for love songs. I like most of the songs on Kate's list, but as I tried to think of songs to add, I realized a couple of things: 1) I own more really good kiss-off songs than I do traditional love songs, and 2) even the songs that I like about loving relationships tend to be a…
I rarely do these blog memes, but I saw this one at Noonan's place and thought it would be amusing. You take the top 100 songs from the year you graduated high school (1985 for me) and pick out the ones that wouldn't make you instantly change the radio station if they came on. Here's the list: 1.…
I realize this has nothing to do with energy, food or environment, but it amuses me, so a brief hiatus from relevance will be taken. As y'all know (or don't) Chanukah starts this weekend, and the household is awash in preparations, many of them involving glue sticks and song. During the course of…

That's cool ... but a little sad too.

Even though there is no mention of the word 'love' in the song - this is the coolest love song I know:

Imagine

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Happy Valentine's Day

\(..;,,;..)/ Monster Love! \(..;,,;..)/

May I lower the tone?

I love a good bum on a woman
It makes me feel happy all day
It's a proof of God's existance
A posteriora

A few (okay, several) years back, the Flash Girls did a song called "Dorothy Parker and Me" which has that verse as the chorus. If you can make the intertubes deliver it to you, I strongly recommend it.

That George. Thinks he so great because he's not albino.

At least he faces his responsibilities...
