Newsgroup worries

Those who are getting very agitated, missing out on their Usenet fix of the group talk.origins, which has been dormant for the past few days, should know that Steps Are Being Taken. Stop emailing me. I don't know any more than this... go take some other stimulant. Alcohol, chocolate, anything!

Oh, and on another subject, PZ is reported in the Inside Higher Ed website. Nothing new - that same old positions, ranging from crucifixion to "meh".

There is a tradition among the regulars of the usenet group talk.origins to have occasional gatherings, usually at some major locus of evolutionary activity, and accompanied by beer. Such an event will be happening this Saturday, in London. We'll be meeting on these steps at 2pm: That's the…
Everyone knows already why I was off in Melbourne this past week — it was the Global Atheist Conference — but why did I hare off to Canberra for the weekend? It was another conspiracy. Many years ago, the locus of all things evolutionist on the interwebs was found on Usenet, in a group called talk.…

Talk.origins not operating? Hunh! My life has been so much more productive since I broke the habit of t.o. a couple of years ago. Now, instead of being ignored there, I am ignored in so many other places.

I hope that people survive! Perhaps they should go outside, take a walk, dig up a fossil, look at some stars, play with their kids.

Hi John,

I haven't worried about talk.origions for maybe 18 months, since Google "Blessed be it's name" [joke] changed the way that the thread was presented. I went for the various Gods in "RuneScape" after that. Perhaps I shall discover a newsgroup software one day that inspires me to debate "Dr." Sean Pitman once again, but then again maybe I should stick with Saradomin or Guthix related questions.

One day, I must tell you about my ride on a Harley "STSE" model custom. (Chrome *everywhere*, fuel injection in a 110ci motor, open face helmet w/ big grin!) We just moved to Baulkham Hills and I turned up to impress the neighbours on that bike - rotflmao.
