I love the way the British say "tapas" -- it sounds like "tap ass." Their snobs still use the more Englishy "a" vowel (as in "cat") for foreign words, whereas not long ago in the US the snobs affected the native pronunciation (like the "a" in "car") -- compare British & US pronunciations of "Milan," "tapas," "flan," "taco," etc.
