I think we can live without her for a month and a half, don't you?
I actually had the BBC news on for a while after the local news and Charlie Gibson, and they got over 20 minutes into the newscast without mentioning Paris Hilton. From an American standpoint, that's refreshing, but...
It's economically wasteful to make someone who's time is worth exorbitant amounts sit in a room for 30 days. Let her pay a $100,000 fine to the city and everyone's better off.
In the south park episode with the 'whore-off' competition between Paris and Mr Slave, Paris starts crying, kicking and screaming when her chauffeur informs her she cannot purchase little Butters. The Passion of the Jew episode came out BEFORE Mel Gibson's crazy rant to the cop. Does South Park write the news?
Lindsey Lohan is likely next...but she is a NY Irish/Italian chick who was not born rich and to a whore mom and a crackhead dad. I don't think she will act the fool like Paris.

It's economically wasteful to make virtually anyone sit in a room for thirty days.
That said, it's not the case that money can be freely convertible into anything. There are consequences of forcing someone to sit in a room that simply cannot be produced by a monetary fine. Time is precious in its own way, in a way that money never is.
There might be a deterrent effect from this that you certainly couldn't get from fining a multi-millionaire. $100,000 to her is like $10 to you or me.
This all deserves to be treated somewhat as a joke, but at this point Paris might be being treated more severely than an ordinary person rather than less. I think the perception that she was a scofflaw had something to do with it.
Drunk driving multiple offenders are a common and often fatal problem.
The MSM shows people like Paris Hilton getting into trouble all the time because they think it makes them look superior to such lesser beasts. It is envy green of eye and malice rotten with corruption.
pass on my vip message to have pris hilton to contact me .

It's like the Bible says: every day Paris Hilton is not in the news is a gift from God.

I've never cared for Paris Hilton, but I find it sickening that people are gloating over a young woman being dragged off to jail in real distress.
