Aside from the photogenic parts with Ellen, that's kinda similar to my new job. I'm trading Blackboard administration for fire analysis, radioactive waste management, accident analysis, risk assessment and other wondrous forms of weird science. I "retired" from that back in 1995 because working in a remote part Louisiana didn't suit my temperament or sensibilities. A few weeks ago I got an offer I couldn't refuse completely out of the blue so I'm migrating back north to Chicago. It sucks to be leaving Austin, my home of 13 years, but I'll be so glad rid myself of Southron "culture", Texas politics (as if Illinois is any better), and Blackboard. Bring on the best pizza in the world and American Science and Surplus! Woo!
