I'll keep this simple, as you can get longer writeups at Universe Today, Bad Astronomy, and the NASA site, but a NASA spacecraft currently orbiting the Moon just released images of five of the six Apollo landing sites.
Why am I so excited about this? Because you can see the Earth-junk we left there…
I was 4, sitting on the floor of our rented bungalow in Ocean Beach, NJ, listening on the AM radio. I can't remember much more than that.
Of course, it could very well have been how The Onion chronicled the event (possibly NSFW depending where you work.).
They've just remastered the original moon-landing video. Even NASA is in the 21st century!
