I'm not paraticularly surprised by Bachmann, cutting benefits to vets seems to be a time honored way to save money.

A history of WWIIs GI Bill reveals that it was a close thing to begin with and the various governments have been cutting it a little ever since then.

My father was eligable for all his expenses at a college of essentiall his choice plus a living stipend. I, in 1969 was eligable for I think $333.00 dollars a month during the months I was in school. Mostly enough for a state school. Later people who ent in in the late 70s had to put money back, while in the service, to be eligable to get money out to go to school. I don't know what it is now.
