Hello World

Ok, so this is not my first blog post ever, but it is my first post as a member of Science Blogs. Unlike Groucho Marx, who did not wish to join any club which would accept him as a member, I am very excited to be here and very flattered by that invitation.

So some breif introductory messages...

To fellow Sciblings, I would like to say hello and I look forward to getting to know you as people and writers. I am already a fan of Tim Lambert at Deltoid, William Connolley at Stoat and Chris Mooney of The Intersection and I have come across many excellent articles from others here, so I am eager to get more quality reading done!

To current followers of A Few Things Ill Considered I hope you will update your bookmarks and RSS feed information and continue to read and comment over here. It will be much easier to follow conversations at this site as Blogger just does not do a good job with recent comments and other tools for tracking discussions.

To any readers who are reading me for the first time, you can get an idea of what it will be like at AFTIC from my past writings on blogger and Gristmill. My main claim to fame is a guide on How to Talk to a Climate Skeptic (see additional details on my About page.)

I look forward to my time here, thanks in advance to all the readers, whether you just lurk or comment frequently and vociferously or any thing in between.

Now, once more, into the breach!

There's a thread on twitter, started by "@JacquelynGill" noting "The Day After Tomorrow", "@ClimateOfGavin" replying that "it was that movie and lame sci community response that prompted me to start blogging", and continuing "Spring 2004 was pre-RC, Scienceblogs, etc. Deltoid was around, Stoat, @…
Stay tuned for frolicsome hijinks and high hilarity. We have stirred up some kooks. Here are 3 in ascending order of lunacy. That climate fraud, Anthony Watts, has noticed Pepsigate. He's got a unique spin on it: the reason some Sciencebloggers were very upset at the inclusion of an unlabeled…
Today, we move to our new home at Discover Blogs: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection While we have immensely enjoyed being a part of Scienceblogs, we've decided together that it is time to move on. Our tremendous thanks go out to Seed for hosting The Intersection since 2006 where we've…

Congrats on the move!

(Will every blog I read end up on SB?)

Hi.
Unfortunately, the link in your Profile field underneath "coby" is dead (at least in my browser). It says:

Nice move, Coby. Just FYI, though...your RSS feeds are either VERY newly hooked up, or slightly borked. The link on your old blog (http://scienceblogs.com/illconsidered/index.xml) shows up a "First Post, Welcome to your new blog." sort of post that doesn't appear to reflect the posts you've made here so far, and using GReader's "Subcribe" bookmarklet directly from the blog page throws up an error for me in the feed. So now RSS joy so far. But if it's JUST been fixed, there may be some caching issues and such.

Congrats Coby! I've been a fan of your old blog and looking forward to reading your new one here at scienceblogs.

Thanks very much for all the welcome messages! BTW, I took the liberty of correcting a couple of "Cory" appellations to "Coby" - no offense taken, I have been called Cody, Colby, Corby, Toby, Cory and I was even referred to as "Doby" for an entire summer (mind you that was by a three year old, so it was rather endearing!).
