Yesterday, I wrote a bit about Michael Savage's attack on George Soros, in which he stated that "people like you give Jews a bad name, Soros. It's people like you who brought about the Holocaust, Soros. I stand by those words."
Admittedly, at the time I wrote my little rant, I didn't know that Michael Savage is, in fact, Jewish himself. My bad. I should have checked and was a bit embarrassed to have to have it pointed out to me by a reader. In actuality, after it was pointed out to me I did remember that I had heard somewhere that Savage's real name is Michael Alan Weiner. Sadly, the fact that Savage is Jewish didn't get by the White Power Rangers over at the National Vanguard (warning: this link leads to white nationalist and racist rantings):

As careful students of Germany's pre-World War II and wartime treatment of Jews are well aware, Jewish behavior had everything to do with "the Holocaust."
Far from the scapegoating of a perfectly innocent and harmless minority, Germany took defensive measures against an unusually powerful group that had for decades actively loathed its people and their values.
For a Jew anywhere to publicly acknowledge these facts is exceptionally rare, but it appears that Savage has done just that with his recent broadcast. His words suggest that awareness of Jewish culpability in Weimar-era Germany's economic and moral decline is greater among Jews than one would expect, given the opinions on the subject that they normally express to gentiles.
Idiots like Michael Savage play right into the hands of hard core racists when they make comments as ill-considered and unfounded as he did when he implied that "bad Jews" like George Soros (of whom I'm definitely not a fan) somehow provided justification for the attempted genocide of European Jews. In reality, regardless of the fact that they're racist pinheads, the National Vanguard interpreted Savage's words in a way not unlike the way I did, the difference being they took it one step further and used Savage as an example of a Jew supposedly "admitting" that Jews "brought the Holocaust on themselves."
I hadn't been planning on writing about this again, until it was pointed out to me that this is a pattern with Michael Savage. Indeed, he frequently engages in Jew-baiting.
Savage on the roots of anti-Semitism:

Savage on Jerry Springer:

I realize that I've probably been writing about idiots like Ann Coulter and Michael Savage a bit too much over the last few days, and many of you may be getting tired of it. This will be the last time for a while. It's time to go back to the more usual topics of this blog after this little diversion into far right wing nut land. Chalk my recent rants up to Coulter's and Savage's reaching a level that just irritated the hell out of me. The really sad part about all this is that Michael Savage has the third most popular syndicated talk radio show in the U.S., and Ann Coulter's book looks on track to hit #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.
I do not like what this says about us as a nation.
I avoid all people like Savage because I know I will just get riled up. Even if he does occasionally have something useful to say, it will be buried under so much rubbish that it will not be worth the effort looking for it. Savage and Coulter certainly do not speak well for the nation. Their continued presence also does not speak well for the media, which props them up by treating their bile as mainstream ideas. It is a sort of symbiotic relationship - the Savages and Coulters get attention, while the media gets its controversies to boost ratings.
I must have missed the parts of the Bible with sorority sisters. Maybe he is using a different edition. Savage ought to share where he found them. :-)
How heroic of him to attack Jerry Springer. I mean he really had to search far and wide for that target.
1) Just because Savage is Jewish doesn't mean he can't be anti-Semitic. You should know that by now....
2) Underneath the freakshow, Jerry Springer is straight-up liberal. Notice how the audience cheers for "coming out" as almost anything, *except* as a cheater or abuser. "An it harm none, do as ye will"....

I'll give him this, though: his self-chosen name is accurate. He is, indeed, savage. Definition 3: "a. boorish, rude; b. malicious" fits him best, but 1b: "lacking the restraints normal to civilized human beings" is accurate too. Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th ed.
I can see how some people might believe Springer is one of the lowest, most despicable people on TV... as long as Savage stays on the radio. Personally, I'm not impressed with Springer, but I think our society has a lot worse problems than that sort of schadenfreude voyeurism.
Chris: A couple of points. Actually, Savage WAS on television briefly. He had a show on MSNBC until he got too much for them.
As for 'blaming Jews' for both Capitalism and Communism, that's nothing new, and was a standard of Nazi rhetoric, and I believe was also common among the earlier French anti-Semites.

I love Michael Savage. It's about time we have someone who tells the truth about what's happening to America. If we are not careful, this country will nice itself and/or politically correct itself to death. These Islamo-fascists are the same as the Nazis and anyone who thinks otherwise is a nut. I am also glad to see Israel finally standing up for itself and the American president and Secretary of State Rice not giving in to the "poor me" status many of the drive-by media are using to describe the Lebanese people who obviously love the terrorists.
Michael Savage called autism a bogus disease. He should have it in his family and see how devestating it is. My God, there is nothiong bogus about autism. How can an educated man be so clueless. I would not wish it on his family, but maybe it would help him to understand
