Amazing.
Maybe there is hope for the music world after all:
NEW YORK Sep 6, 2006 (AP)-- Bob Dylan is back at the top of the charts for the first time in 30 years. His new album, "Modern Times," reached No. 1 on the album sales chart, selling 192,000 units in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures released Wednesday.
The critically acclaimed disc is Dylan's first No. 1 album since 1976's "Desire."
I picked up the album last week. Although I've only listened to about 2/3 of the cuts, I can confidently say that it's the best Dylan in a long time. It's at least as good as Time Out of Mind, which was released in 1997, and may be better. It will take me repeated listenings to decide. I'd better get to it, then.

(OK, Music Monday one day late...)
I haven't done this in a while, but it's a long holiday weekend during which time I'm ensconced within my Sanctum Sanctorum studying for my once a decade recertification examination in Surgery.
It will be a bit days before I can spend time writing anything thoughtful, so enjoy the music and reposted material for a little longer.
Tom Petty and now Dylan...
Life is good.
saw him last year with Willie opening up for him. He was loud. He rocked. It was outrageous and his band is amazingly talented.
Missed him this summer with Jr. Brown, who is another favorite.
