Congratulations are in order for Jake Crosby!

I've been trying to lay off the blogging on the weekend for a long time now, and, for the most part, I've been successful, as I'm sure regular readers will have noticed. However, sometimes I just can't help but take a few minutes to note particularly entertaining or important developments. This particular development falls into the former category. I certainly can't say that it's important, but it certainly is very entertaining. It's also something that's well-deserved.

So all I'll say is, "Congratulations, Jake Crosby!" You've earned it. Few people I know are more deserving of a spot in the Encyclopedia of American Loons!

More like this

"But I'm also talking about American businessmen doing what they were born to do. Make things. We've stopped making and become a country of consumers. Well, I, for one, am done consuming. And I'm ready to make." -Jack Donaghy, 30 Rock I don't normally write about what's going on in my personal life…
Has it really been that long? It was a dismally overcast Saturday five years ago when, on a whim after having read a TIME Magazine article about how 2004 was supposedly the Year of the Blogger, I sat down in front of my computer, found Blogspot, and the first incarnation of Respectful Insolence…
It's been well over two weeks since I urged everyone to get out the popcorn and sit back to enjoy the internecine war going on over in the antivaccine movement. The reason for my chuckling was the way that everyone's favorite Boy Wonder Reporter Propagandist for the antivaccine crank blog Age of…
I've used my current pseudonym since at least the late 1990s, first on Usenet and then on the first incarnation of this blog. Not surprisingly in retrospect (although it surprised me at the time), people who didn't like me began trying back in the 1990s to "unmask" me. It began with Holocaust…

Let me be the first poster to say to Jake Crosby Congratulations!!!

What a brilliant trajectory for you Jake. You went from being a mixed-up kid whose mommy told you your Asperger Syndrome is a result of the vaccines you received, to a full-fledged anti-vaccine, anti-science libelous *journalist* and slanderous stalker...within four years.

Congratulations, Jake. You've worked hard to cultivate your conspiracy-mindedness. Even going so far as to subject yourself to graduate studies in an actual science-based program, all so you can ignore what you learned! You've bravely eschewed any and all advice to take care what you write online and have alienated not only those who disagree with you, but even your allies.

Sad they are three years into the project with nearly 600 entries and are only up to the "Cs"

Haruspices, sibyls and diviners of RI:
can any of you prognosticate about Jake's future.. uh - for lack of a better word- achievements?

@ Denice Walter: I'm still trying to find out if Jake defended his thesis and received his MPH-Epidemiology diploma from GWU.

His future? Bolen's blog.

@lilady: Or a padded cell, if he snaps from all the anti-Vaxxers who have "betrayed" the cause.

Has anyone else on here noticed that right before he blocks or unfriends any anti-Vaxxers who question him, Crosby accuses them of somehow being controlled by Mark Blaxill, as if Blaxill is some sort of evil puppet master? Just how paranoid do you think Crosby is getting to say things like that? I truly fear for his mental stability.

Because I often heIp people with career planning: I see several feasible possibilities for him either as a practitioner of the dark arts ( nutritionist, energy medicine, chelation, HBOT) or as a natural health blogger- a huge gap is currently opening up because two alt media loons are now nearly spending all of their electrons on shrieking about police states and fascism. ( PRN, Natural News).

Jake has tons of money and oodles of spare time: he can hire someone to set up a blog and he can ramble on to his heart's content about internecine struggles and sub rosa operations amongst the elite denizens of anti-vaxx world.

He has no need of either money or anyone else's input.

I , however, have to meet with others' approval so I must get prepare myself to appear fashionable enough for a scheduled activity that involves the waterside, nouvelle Asian food, alcohol and hopefully, hilarity.

Umm...Is there an Anti-Vaccine Anonymous movement somewhere?

If it were not for Jake's bar kukah, I might never have known that Johnny Rivers covered "Mother and Child Reunion." The downside is that I briefly expected Johnny Nash, which would have explained the Horace Andy connection adequately for my purposes.

Not quite.

There isn't an alphabetical listing for the content of the
Encyclopedia of American Loons. A quicky hint; if you think someone deserves their own entry in the Encyclopedia, Google "Encyclopedia of American Loons" with that person's last name (say, um, Olmsted) and you get this...

Now don't stay up all night reading all the non-C entries, justawriter. :-)

Poor Joke Crasby has listened to the wrong people and is now a Loon™.

I had never heard of the En of Am Loonies before. There went 2 1/2 hours of reading and I'm only starting 2011. Argh.

Thanks for the search hint Lilady

Had to chuckle at the diagnosis for Olmsted :)

No one here seems to have noticed, that after Discover dumped on RFK,Jr last week, our boy posted a little rant on his Facebook page, accusing Kennedy of "supporting the thimerosal cover-up",and being pro vaccine. He also gave a link to the comment and contact page on Kennedy's site, urging readers to flood it with comments. https://www.facebook.com/jacob.l.crosby?fref=ts

June 12.Also see the comments that follow, where Crosby equates Kennedy, with Mark Blaxil for "covering up evidence",and calls Erik Nanstiel of FAIR Autism Media a troll.

Roger, there has been some discussion here about poor Jake's continuing meltdown, though I don't recall which thread. He is blocking Twitter followers left, right and center too, if any of them dare to express any criticism, or even concern. I actually feel sorry for him. I know he has made his bed, but I don't enjoy watching him lie in it.

@Krebiozen: He also stated on Twitter that he boycotted the Autism One conference in May. I was disappointed, because considering his fanaticism over vaccines, I was certain he would show up at the conference and crash the talk given by the AoA crew. The PowerPoint for his own talk, in which he chewed out Mark Blaxill, was removed from the Autism One website right before the conference kicked off. I imagine he thought the Autism One organizers were yet more traitors to the cause and bailed on the conference for that reason.

@ Sebastian Jackson:

That's news indeed: I'd guess that he would attend any forum where there's an audience willing to listen.

Last year, he traipsed around and posed for photos ( documented for posterity at TMR shortly after the conference).

Bolen is associated with health freedom expos - there was one shortly before Autism One and there should be at least another this year. Perhaps he'll show up at venues like that.

Well, I was wondering who this idiot was that was clogging up my Twitter feed. I was writing and I kept seeing his name.

Sounds a real physician needs to change his anti-psychotic doses.

... am I alone in not understanding who Michael is referring to? Perhaps it's because I don't understand how your Twitter feed can get clogged up by someone you're not following (the signal-to-noise ratio can drop precipitously if someone you follow keeps re-tweeting crappy tweet, of course, but in that scenario it's still someone who you've chosen to follow that is causing the situation.)
