Now I'm one of those birders who's always struggled immensely with gull ID so I'm not quite ready to wholeheartedly agree with Jared or Blake's theories but do think they one of may be on to something.
or even:
"...but I do think one of them may be on to something."
invisible gull is invisible
Are you trying to gull the gullible?
I'm getting "lighthouse" here :P
No, I am pretty sure that is a gull. How do you guys not see it? It is right there, kinda to the right a bit...
Brian, you reversed the image! The gull is on the OTHER side of the lighthouse. Just flip the slide around.
Think that's bad, I once saw a door become a jar.
The door is a jar?
If you're up could you close it please?
We must cleanse the jars of perception
And yet we must not be too gullible.
For when we are gullible exposure to the truth can be jarring. (Or is that canned humor?)

Happy now? :P
Yes!

It's a Ring-billed Gull.
The gull has been found, but now someone stole the lighthouse. Because the door was left ajar? Or the lighthouse attendant was gullible?
You can see from the posts above what we did to amuse ourselves while sitting at our computers in August.
I look forward to your hopefully more edifying vacation report.
Methinks you uploaded the wrong photo...
