anyone know what's going on with women's strong distrust of governors?

hmmm... i'm sure it couldn't have anything to do with the governors' attacks on medicaid, wic, abortion, teachers, public employees ....

Sean Carroll the physicist has begun to annoy me lately, and it started with his post on how to get into top physics departments (never mind that the only two departments he's been at are in schools in the top ten, one of which has been ranked number one).

It continues with his claim that Harvard's purpose is not education.

I call bullshit. Where do you get the students to continue said research when those presently there retire?

(In any case, I will make it a point that no matter how good I get in my particular field, I will NEVER accept a post at an Ivy League institution, if this is what they think of their students.)
