This Sunday (March 25) the Discovery Channel will be broadcasting the series Planet Earth at 8pm ET/PT. Footage of Davidson Seamount will be broadcast in the Deep Ocean episode at 10pm ET/PT. Expect to see some gorgeous gorgonians and some handsome fly-trap anemones.
Discovery Channel put together…
I don't usually do "memes," but the "weird things" one (via Janet) seems entertaining. So here are some weird things about me:
1) I carry on complicated conversations with the dog, translating her bits into English in a high-pictched voice. I started doing this to amuse/ annoy Kate, but now I do it…

Do giant squid go squee?
It just looks to me like they'll be broadcasting those photos from last year. Although they probably have access to a lot more than was in the paper.

That's what I figured too. This is probably from the Japanese expedition where the snagged the giant squid on the longline.
Squeee? PZ must be lurking on Cute Overload in his spare time. Happy squid-viewing!
