Say…I think I know this guy:

That fellow on the right has made the move to Scienceblogs and is now
writing away at Neurophilosophy. Say howdy, everyone.
Hmmm…maybe we should also bring that fellow on the left into the stable, too.

The latest xkcd is an odd one. I know some people freak out a teeny tiny bit at the thought, but it never bothers me.
I'm a first child, and I calculated back when I was conceived, and estimate that it was almost exactly the day of my parents' wedding — which was an elopement. The two of them ran…
For a change of pace, here's an email from a reader who is not a crazy creationist, but instead an atheist scientist with a problem. Hmmm…maybe I should work on being the scientist version of Dan Savage.
I've edited out revealing information, because obviously this woman is in a situation fraught…
Julia Gillard, the new Prime Minister of Australia, is unmarried…but she has a boyfriend, a partner, a…a…paramour, which brings up the horrific possibility of a leader of the country living in sin in official accommodations. Oh, lord, I'm getting the vapors just thinking about it.
And now the…
From building bridges with anti-vaxers to building bridges with animal liberation maniacs, Chris Mooneys 'building bridges' plan is revolutionizing the way scientists interact with insane people!
Its even changing the playing field with HIV-1 Deniers.

"Neurophilosophy", huh? Why don't you be the first to write about "evodevophilosophy"?
I'd speculate because Evolutionary Development doesn't have a history of being riddled with category errors and other ideas about non-physical substances being involved. Except, perhaps vitalism. But philosophers of biology have cleared that up.
So what are the advantages and disadvantages of moving under the SEED umbrella? Are there any times when you have to listen to your master when you don't want to? Are there any positive benefits other than the monthly check?
PZ, what's it like dealing with the scienceblog collective? I know that there are times when it's frustrating. If you had to do it all over again, would you?
I'd do it all over again. The Seed people do not tell us anything at all -- we have complete freedom to do whatever we will, and while some of the SciBlings may be a PITA, we can ignore them.
The benefit beside the paycheck is a very reliable server, good PR, and most of the other people on sb are good to be associated with.
I'll add my "voice" to the suggestion that Larry's Sandwalk be added to scienceblogs. He's got everything needed to make it work (most importantly, frequent, interesting posts and a good, steady readership). Maybe someone at SEED is listening...
pz, you're a fellow nikonian, i never knew.
Sandwalk would be a fine addition to Scienceblogs, but I'll continue to read Larry Moran daily either way. He's not as prolific as PZ, but then, who is? Must be those extra six tent.. I mean arms...
We are Seed Magazine, you will blog for us. Your scientific expertise and writing skill will be added to our stable of bloggers. You'll get paid. Resistence is counter productive.
You want to bring them into the "stable"?
That makes you the...?
Wow, PZ, I thought for sure you'd be all over this Salon.com piece: http://www.salon.com/books/feature/2007/07/03/paul_davies/
#6: Yeah, arachnophilia, PZ announced a fair while back that he bought a D50.
Say, PZ, is that the kit 18-55 mm mounted on the camera? It could be a trick of the light, but it looks bigger, sort of like the 18-70 mm, but the additional weight of that lens ought to tilt the light D50 downwards. Just curious.

Philosophy is becoming oppressive by the sheer weight of over-specialization.

PS I hated Mitsov's lawyer, he really blew it during final arguments. Why would a lawyer take a perfectly good cause for reasonable doubt, a veritable swiss cheese of a prosecution, and wax eloquent about 'even if my client is guilty you should still aquit him'? WTF?
You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
All those pictured should be grateful to be a part of the group that also hosts the blog of the great, divine, and playfully chubby Ed.
I'd love to see Sandwalk move over to Science Blogs. Larry's lively personality, science knowledge and interesting posts would be a real plus for Science Blogs.
Hmmm...that's not a bad picture of you PZ. I think you should paste in that picture as an update to your profile picture. It's more flattering, IMO.
Um...so, can I come out of the dungeon now??
Just curious - is that photo from London?
Never mind, I clicked on the first link and it explains that, yes, it is from London. (I was at that day at the musuem, too.)
I think that Larry Moran at Sandwalk would fit in at SEED: he has a definite point of view about evolution and natural selection and will argue trenchantly for it.
