"Neurophilosophy", huh? Why don't you be the first to write about "evodevophilosophy"?
I'd speculate because Evolutionary Development doesn't have a history of being riddled with category errors and other ideas about non-physical substances being involved. Except, perhaps vitalism. But philosophers of biology have cleared that up.
So what are the advantages and disadvantages of moving under the SEED umbrella? Are there any times when you have to listen to your master when you don't want to? Are there any positive benefits other than the monthly check?
PZ, what's it like dealing with the scienceblog collective? I know that there are times when it's frustrating. If you had to do it all over again, would you?
I'd do it all over again. The Seed people do not tell us anything at all -- we have complete freedom to do whatever we will, and while some of the SciBlings may be a PITA, we can ignore them.
The benefit beside the paycheck is a very reliable server, good PR, and most of the other people on sb are good to be associated with.
I'll add my "voice" to the suggestion that Larry's Sandwalk be added to scienceblogs. He's got everything needed to make it work (most importantly, frequent, interesting posts and a good, steady readership). Maybe someone at SEED is listening...

Sandwalk would be a fine addition to Scienceblogs, but I'll continue to read Larry Moran daily either way. He's not as prolific as PZ, but then, who is? Must be those extra six tent.. I mean arms...

Say, PZ, is that the kit 18-55 mm mounted on the camera? It could be a trick of the light, but it looks bigger, sort of like the 18-70 mm, but the additional weight of that lens ought to tilt the light D50 downwards. Just curious.

I think that Larry Moran at Sandwalk would fit in at SEED: he has a definite point of view about evolution and natural selection and will argue trenchantly for it.
