Uh-oh, students

I'm in Minneapolis right now to give a talk at 2 at the Roseville library. My fellow Minnesotans all know we're being hit with a big snow storm -- the weather service is howling about blizzards and whiteouts. I'm beginning to suspect I'm not going to make it home today.

I have a Human Physiology class scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning. I'm hoping one or two of my students will see this message in a bottle and pass the word: I will be trying to get home today, but I'm not going to be stupid, and will give up rather than bulling on through hazardous conditions. If I do make it home, I will put a big message here saying COME TO CLASS MONDAY MORNING! Check before you go to bed tonight and if I'm stranded somewhere and don't confirm my arrival…sleep in tomorrow.

I know you'll all be hoping for my safe and timely travel.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'm off to my parents' house for the day. I hope everyone has a great day with their families. In Michigan, we have a tradition. We eat far too much, then fight over who gets the couch, then we all watch the Lions play, which makes us want to regurgitate the meal we…
I'm going to be on Atheist Talk radio on Sunday morning at 9am, for a whole hour. Greg Laden is going to be interviewing me, and he's put up a thread asking for questions. Any questions. Go ahead, make me writhe and suffer and struggle on Sunday — I don't mind, and it'll be entertaining. Greg also…
My life isn't easing up just yet as we wend our way to the imminent end of the term. I'm going to be flitting about over the next few days. I'm chauffeuring #1 son to a job interview in Minneapolis today, and then returning him home to St Cloud again sometime this evening. I'm planning to be in St…
