Kate's going to Readercon next weekend, and I'm not. I have three summer students at the moment, and some other projects that I need to work on, and I just can't spare the time.
This means I'm going to have a whole weekend to do things that Kate doesn't enjoy, like go out for sushi and greasy Chinese food. It also means I'll have time to watch movies she wouldn't like (I should note that she doesn't forbid me to watch stuff she doesn't like, but on the whole, I'd rather watch movies with her than by myself).
Now, I have at least one and possibly two Netflix rentals that I'll be able to use for this purpose. So, my question to the Internet is this: What should I put at the top of my Netflix queue to watch while Kate is out of town?

These words used by Mr. Lambert to describe Mr. Kates's arguments. Is it
permissible to call a list member a liar if you use a thesaurus?

Penny Richards wrote via email to tell me that Saturday, November 25 was Kate Gleason's birthday.
What doesn't she like?
If you haven't seen it, see The Prestige, but that may well be a Kate-friendly movie.

When I have a night like that, I usually choose westerns, movies based on comic books, or latex-clad vampire hunters.
I would go with a guilty pleasure movie like Very Bad Things
Dr. Dave may be on the right track. I'd go with the holy trilogy of comedy, Animal House, Caddyshack, and the Blues Brothers.
Or Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle......Sean Of The Dead
We've seen and liked _The Prestige_.
I have an unfortunately narrow range of things I'm willing to watch on-screen. I don't like humiliation comedy; sexism; racism; or things that are really violent, moderately spooky or above, really dark, or stupid.
Movies I like include _The Princess Bride_, _Ronin_, _Sneakers_, _Ocean's Eleven_, _The Fellowship of the Ring_ and _The Return of the King_ (not _The Two Towers_, for reasons it would take too long to explain), _Master and Commander_, the second _Spider-Man_ and _X-Men_ movies, and _Chicken Run_.
I'll leave it to Chad to list movies he really likes and I don't.
