Note the addition of the crib mirror. She's started to become more aware of the world around her, and may parents picked up a couple of mirrors when they were here last week. The mirror is the most fascinating thing in the world, when she's awake and happy (clean diaper, not hungry, etc.).

Well, I'm back... I was away for SteelyKid's 5-week birthday, but Kate was good enough to get the bison picture for the week. I got in late last night, and only got a bleary half-hour of baby-calming in at 2:30am, but even that was enough to reconfirm that she's the cutest baby in the universe.…
Your weekly picture of SteelyKid with Appa: She's getting big enough that it's starting to be difficult to keep them both in the frame, at least in the porta-crib bassinet thing. I may need to change the way I'm taking these. On the developmental front, Kate reports hearing SteelyKid laugh on…

She's adorable. Does she favor looking towards the left? Seems to be that way in most of the pictures (admittedly only a few - may be 10 or so that I have seen.) Geeta's nephew used to do the same, until his parents put a mirror on the other side.

Does she favor looking towards the left?

She does, and this mirror usually is placed toward the other end of the crib, so she gets put down facing the other way and has to turn her head to the right to see herself.
