For both of the readers who enjoyed last fall's Short Story Club, there's another round starting up soon, this time run by Locus, featuring award-nominated works. I'm busier now than I was in the fall, so I'm not sure I'll be able to participate in all of these, but then, I've already read two of the five stories, so that makes it a little easier...

Now that Friday has come and gone, I've love a post summarizing what you ended up saying about this story. As a science/math teacher myself as well as an avid sci-fi reader, I've occasionally fantasized about making a foray into creative writing or English lit territory, perhaps informally through a school book club. It must be a fun opportunity to play English professor for just one day.
