Someone hit a nerve

Jason does a nice take-down of Dembski's latest attempt to present ID-friendly research. Interestingly, a commenter ("stevie steve") got banned from Dembski's blog for asking a very simple and pertinent question: "Did any ID theorists predict this discovery?" A case of the Emperor's New Clothes, it seems to me.

How long has it been since Dembski has met any of the criteria for being considered a scholar? He publishes no peer-reviewed papers and has a research record most charitably characterized as speculative. His progression from Baylor to Baptist theological seminaries doesn't seem like much of an upward path, either. Good thing he's a major figure in the ID business, since it's all he's got (along with his faith in things unseen, which I'm sure is a comfort to him).

I'm trying to make my way through Demski's Intelligent Design. It's a badly written slog, but I haven't gotten frustrated enough to throw it across the room in disgust yet. A doctor once told me I have a high tolerance for pain. Maybe that explains it. :)
