Arizona as Swing State

Apparently the McCain campaign sees Arizona as a "swing state" ... this despite the fact that Arizona has voted Republican in every election bar one (1996) since 1952. It says something about McCain that he can't even feel comfortable about carrying the state that he has "represented" (and I use that term loosely) for 26 years.

On his campaign website, Romney has listed ten incidents that supposedly mean McCain is unstable. Let's review them:
During Robert F. Kennedy's candidacy, he gave an anti-war speech at K-State. At this comparatively conservative outpost, the crowds went crazy. A speechwriter remembers looking at the wild crowd reaction and saying, "This is Kansas, fucking Kansas. He's going all the fucking way!"
Just the salient points. McCain does not want to spread the wealth around. Obama wants to cut the 15 billion dollar subsidy to insurance companies. Obama wants to invest in higher education.
So far I'm really liking Rachel Maddow's new MSNBC show. She reminds me a lot of what Keith Olbermann used to be (and sometimes still is).

Well, to be fair to McCain, he's at least represented AZ as well as Walter Matheau represented MN in Grumpy Old Men.

And as well as Dembski has represented ID.

And as well as Lizzie Borden represented Parental Care Givers.

Let's hear it for the growing number of Arizona independent voters...

...who wanted to vote for their candidate of choice back in February but could not since Arizona runs a closed primary. I voted with my wallet in the interim and am looking forward to casting my vote for Obama in November.

The Christian Science Monitor weighs in on the subject.
