Hemiplegia is paralysis of one side of the body. It can be congenital or acquired as the result of disease or injury involving the spinal cord and/or brain. Stroke is a common cause.
Misoplegia is the hatred of paralyzed body parts in those afflicted by hemiplegia. People with misoplegia have been known to verbally or physically abuse their paralyzed parts.
