The pundit, famous for a profanity-laden exit from a CNN set in 2005, and for outing undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame in 2003, checked into a Boston hospital only days after running over a pedestrian in D.C. and insisting I didn’t know I hit anybody. In a statement, Novak explained:
I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period.
We can only assume this announcement about his "journalistic work" is meant to be retroactive.

But a fascinating lesson in scientific discourse is currently underway in the blogosphere. It all started with a harmless little analysis of a letter published in NEJM.
After taking some time to mull over the events of last week--when I saw a side of Scienceblogs.com I've not seen before, and that troubled me a great deal--I felt a strong need to clear the air. So let me say, at the outset of this first post in a series, that I speak for myself alone.
Here at ScienceBlogs we have a (very) informal agreement to try to avoid profanity-laden titles. Personally, they don't bother me at all, but I can see the point---there are lots of folks who probably don't want their feed reader to pop up with what I'm about to say.
An open letter to the Framing Wars:
Can we start by just considering Chris Mooney as a person distinct from Matt Nisbet?
Poor man. This does explain a lot though.
Eh, I think he's safe. After all, I'm pretty sure only stakes through the heart and crucifixes work on his kind.
The man is dying. Your post is not amusing.
Good riddance to bad medicine.
The brain tumor *could* explain how Novak could keep driving after hitting a homeless man, who then was sprawled across the hood of his car. But on second thought, if he could see to drive, how come he didn't realize it until a bicyclist told him?
I am sorry that he has an apparently life-threatening condition, but I will not be sorry to say goodbye to his brand of right-wing, hateful "journalism." I imagine Valerie Plame feels the same way. Tumor or not, he's a rat.
