Campaign ads

I promise not to post many of these, but I rather like this ad. Enjoy.

Kevin Drum (formerly CalPundit) of the Washington Monthly, is usually a pretty reliable source, but in this post I think he misses the point almost entirely.
Darksyde has an interesting post up about the future of NASA.
Ethan at Starts With a Bang has promised to shave his head if 100 commenters promise to give at least $10 to charity or volunteer for 4 hours. So naturally, I had to chip in. Wanna help?
When I read this tale of woe, I have to admit I had a hard time feeling much sympathy for the victim.

That was a nice ad. Very good visuals & linkage w/Bush. Thanks for pointing that out, as I don't usually watch tv ads.

Okay, that was awesome. Familiar, catchy tune, well coordinated visuals. Thanks for posting - hadn't seen it yet on TV.

Wow, this stuff works on Americans? No wonder dirty politics is so ubiquitous over there. I have no doubt that McCain has a poor understanding of economics, but what this ad doesnt tell us is what's so great about Obama? Is he an economics expert? If so, why isn't he promoting his own strengths rather than bad mouthing the competition?

Chris: There's lots of positive ads out there, but these sorts of ads are very effective, and it's nice to see Obama hitting McCain hard. Alas and alack, American politics is not a battle over high principle, and it's nice to see Obama playing the game, so that he can be in a position to genuinely change the system.
