Shorter Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal:

Wah!

I mean, can you imagine how the Republicans would react if a Democrat said this:

Speaker Pelosi likes to call the Republicans the âParty of No.â Some of us, we donât like the way that sounds. It hurts our feelings. ⦠Speaker Newt Gingrich said yesterday the Republicans need to be the âParty of Yes,â and he is right.

If he'd stop saying "no" to evolution (then working to attract biotech industries), "no" to economic stimulus (then touting his ability to attract stimulus funds), and even "hell no" to health insurance reform, maybe people would call him something else. But whatever the institutional Republican party might "need to be," what they are right now is the whiny Party of No.

More like this

Speaker Pelosi likes to call the Republicans the âParty of No.â⦠Speaker Newt Gingrich said yesterday the Republicans need to be the âParty of Yes,â

Woah, what a burn! Gingrich must have spent hours coming up with that one.

But yeah, Jindal is whiny - "Party of No" is one of the most charitable epithets you could find for his party right now. (I misspelled that just now as 'epitaph' at first - I'd wish "Party of No" would turn into an epitaph.)

Whenever you get a Gingrich Civility Lesson (GCL), it's a day to celebrate.

His best-selling ettiquette manual, "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control" ended up inspiring the Republicans to really change the tone in DC.
