iPod iChing - LHC

Yikes, thank Thor it is friday!

We stay on topic, and ask the mighty iPod: oh Mighty iPod, will the LHC find anything interesting beyond the Standard Model, like a nice Higgs particle or two?

Whoosh goes the randomizer.
Whoosh.

Ooh, Covering and Crossing are very retro, right back to the '70s. Good start.
The Crown speaks of loss, while the Root is a great eclectic reinterpretation of a classic.
The Past is a cautionary tale, but all turns out well in the end.
The Future speaks of tunneling, death and rejection.
The Questioner is a meaningless interlude, figures, haven't got a dog in this fight. Dance on.
The House speaks of a new messiah and new promise, sometime Real Soon Now. Methinks a new kid theorist will rise.
The Inside is a condemnation of the Ultimate Authority by "the Outsiders" - there is threat of total destruction and woe, and it is all the physicists fault?!
The Outcome is love lost but life goes on and we find a new love. But will we have to wear corduroy again?

Well, that doesn't sound too promising. Time to start looking for a new darling model, get ahead of the crowd. Fickle the Universe is.

As always, the Key as explained by Sean

#11 is Travelin' Soldier (live) - Dixie Chicks, #12 is Accident Waiting to Happen (live bootleg) - Billy Bragg

Accident Waiting to Happen

I've always been impressed with a girl
Who could sing for her supper and get breakfast as well
That's the way I am, heaven help me
He said, "We don't like peace camapigners 'round here"
As he nailed another one to the wall
And that's what gets me in trouble, heaven help me

Goodbye and good luck to all the rubbish that you've spoken
Goodbye and good luck to all the promises
you've broken
Your life has lost its dignity, its beauty and its passion
You're an accident waiting to happen

There you are standing at the bar
And you're giving me grief about the USSR
And that chip on your choulder gets bigger as you
get older
One of these night you're gonna get caught,
It'll give you a pregnant pause for thought
You're a dedicated swallower of fascism

Time up and time out
For all the liberties you've taken
Time up and time out for all the friends that
you've foresaken
If you choose to waste away like death is back in fashion
You're an accident waiting to happen

And my sins are so unoriginal
I have all the self-loathing of a wolf in sheep's clothing
In this carnival of carnivores,
Heaven help me
