Not just good, but great.

it strikes me that nobody (in all the hype) has bothered looking at the one statistic that would prove or disprove that the "surge" is working: the number of refugees fleeing the country.

In fact, the number of refugees has continued to increase, indicating little impact. The sergeants' Op-Ed confirms that, for ordinary Iraqis, little has changed.

NPR had a poignant piece on Iraq on Friday, I think. They were talking about the celebrations of many Iraqis immediately after we toppled Saddam, and contrasting that period of hope to the current situation.
