Some of the stuff is scare figures - eg hypothetical 1 MegaTon Iranian strike on Riyadh. No likely that Iran will have a thermonuclear device in the time frame considered unless the Russians sell it to them.
Interesting though, in the same sort of way that a good horror movie is interesting.
