I was at the Medicine Prize talks yesterday. It's a strange occasion as it attracts a lot of individuals who are not scientists (and are thus bored out of their mind for two and a half hours since they don't understand the scientific details). The medicine talks were on a Sunday for a change so I managed to get a seat this time (usually theres too many students from the Karolinska turning up - the talks are held next door to the Institute's library).
The actual 'ceremony' when they get awarded the prize doesn't happen until the 10th (the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
