A dragon lives forever

I both really like this song and find it hard to listen to sometimes.

...five different ways! In a bit of a twist on some of the "Five songs I love" posts I've done, I thought I'd take one of my favourite songs and see if I could find a bunch of different versions of it. Some songs seem to naturally lend themselves to re-interpretation by different artists, and…
I've got to say, I get some weird things in my head sometimes. I don't know how many of you know who Vashti Bunyan is, but you may have heard a snippet from one of her songs last year in an NFL commercial. The beautiful, haunting song is called Train Song and it was the first song I thought of…
Dead Soul Tribe, "Goodbye City Life": mediocre prog metal. Not bad, but nothing special either. Dave Matthews Band, "Lying in the Hands of God": I know, lots of people think I'm crazy to like DMB. But I do. And I find this song terribly depressing. One of the members of the DMB was an…
This week, in SprogCast #4, the younger Free-Ride offspring sings and then suggests that the song bears on the planetary subject of the very first Friday Sprog Blogging entry, which also involved singing. Hers was the first singing voice I'd ever heard that sounded nice to my ears. I'd had no interest in music until then. It was about four years later that I saw her on television in black-and-white, surprised she was tall, blonde, and pretty. I was lucky enough once to see her live. Michelle who?

Presumably Michelle Phillips, given the context;
as opposed to say Michelle Shocked?

I'd have Joan on that list also.

Then came Patti and the world was never the same.

Michelle who?

Presumably Michelle Phillips, of the Mamas and the Papas.

I assumed it was Michelle Phillips. Too bad she stopped singing.
