Don't you mean bottlenose?

I know this is a deep-sea blog, not a marine mammal one, but still...

:)

Oops, Friday and I had something other than dolphins on my brain. Bottlenose of course...Freudian slip.

I enjoyed your photo of the albino/pink. Thanks!

i love dolphins and i love pink its about time they are put in to one whole

More like...it's about time we wake up to the wonders of our world, which have been around since before human existance...and begin to humbly care for this planet, and all of it's magnificance! Before our kids find out after things, as amazing as pink dolphins, become extinct, and they then can only read about it, as if it were mythology, even though it was true even in their time, unbeknownst to so many.
Yes! Pink dolphins are real and alive today! Preserve and protect them!Peace~Kennon

How cute! Growing up my favorite stuffed animal was a fluffy pink Dolphin. Btw, there's a kind of Amazonian River Dolphin that is also pink, so this really didn't come as such a big surprise.

Could this dolphin be pink because of human pollution or dumping of chemicals?
Or do you think that the mother contained a rare pink gene that once belonged to the species way before humans came into existance?
Please reply =)

It is pink due to the type food it eats. Like the flamingo that is pink due to the type of fish that they eat.

The dolphin is pink because it is albino. Hemoglobin in blood (red blood cells) give it's flesh and eyes their pink color. Most albinos do not survive well in the wild.

I was just watching Dora's cousins show. I forget her name. I'm watching it with my 2 year old. lol Anyway, they said something about a pink dophine and I was like noway. I never in my life heard of such. So I had to come online to see this pink dophine and sure enough... there it is. The stuff you can learn from watching these kids shows. lol WOW
