I suppose it was inevitable that the Australian would reprint Christopher Booker's claim that winter disproves man-made global warming. It was a global warming denial piece, it was picked up Drudge and the arguments were pathetically weak. So here it is in today's paper.

Surely to bring the mean down that far, you would need ridiculously low temperatures. I don't see the Thames freezing over yet!
A man came into a hotel lobby, and screamed, "fire in the building!!" Everyone in the lobby panicked and rushed for the nearest entrance and in a mad scramble to get out several children were trampled and seriously hurt. When the police realised that it was all a deliberate false alarm, the man who screamed out was arrested, fined and imprisoned as punishment for this deliberate act which hurt the children and disrupted the fire, police and ambulance services, hotel staff and patrons.
Will the UN, Al Gore and Tim Flannery be reprimanded for their scare tactics and alarmism? They were rewarded respectively with the Nobel Peace prize and Australian of the Year awards for what clearly amounts to an alarmism which has/is caused(ing) huge damage to the economy through a false hope that mankind can control climate through CO2 emissions - at the very least the awards should be recalled and these people, and other AGW alarmists should be forced to apologise.

Damn. I got half-way through Lank's comments thinking "oh wow, what a nice, intelligent and thoughtful analogy (and reason to try Global Warming deniers). What a shame. Had you ruin it with stupidity, didn't you?
Wonderful. One of Australia's major newspapers, part of a huge global media group, will not or cannot find someone of more substance than a glorified troll to pass comment on climate change.
The Australian certainly isn't alone in this - see any article by Chris Kenny in the Adelaide Advertiser. The standard tropes - temperatures haven't risen since 1998, 650 scientists against global warming, yada yada yada.
