Hipster Abbie:
Remember when webisodes were anti-establishment? Group of cultural outsider kids makin 'The Guild'? Bored actors/writers makin 'Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog'? Now webisodes are like, so mainstream.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy--
Granted, I would pay to watch Tahmoh Penikett eat a bowl of cereal, but I am totally pumped for a reboot, even if its 'only' in webisode form! I LOVED 'Mortal Kombat' when I was little... well, I liked 'Street Fighter' more, but god, you couldnt beat the gore of MK, I loved Sub-Zero. LOL! Remember how tweaked out 'parent groups' and 'family coalitions' and 'politicians' got over those SUPER REALISTIC pixels?? ROFL!! Weird how my bro and I played those games all the time, and he grew up to be an 'engineer' and I grew up to be a 'virologist', not blood thirsty assassins? WEIRD! Would you believe that the new 'Mortal Kombat' game is apparently banned in Australia??? Year 2011, here, people.
LOL, gawd politicians and bureaucrats are completely and utterly useless creatures.
I am like, so nostalgiaing out on this.

While it's not Mortal Kombat music, Ewan Dobson gets a lot of love on Youtube for doing several of his songs as Raiden.

Mortal Kombat definitely had Street Fighter on aesthetics; but for gameplay, SF all the way.
So are you saying its your bro whos the aassassin?
Back in the day when I had the SNES, I preferred SF to MK: MK had cool graphics, but for me it just seemed like it was trying too hard in that regard. It pushed the boundries, for sure, and we owe a lot to MK for that.
The webisode above was pretty good. Indeed, it's piqued my interest in the latest release of MK. Now, if you'll excuse whilst I go release a fusillade of expletives, since I just happen to live in that backwater of gaming regulation known as Australia.
Nostalgic indeed. Every once in a while I'll encounter a situation (poker game, etc) where the most fitting comment is to utter "FATALITY" in a low voice. You can immediately tell who grew up playing that game.
And yeah, Sub-Zero was the MF'ng bomb.

Does this mean we need to wait for an approving review from Pitchfork Media before we can watch it or can we just watch it "ironically" wearing fake glasses and a trucker cap?
That was when smosh was smosh. Before they sold out to the corporate pop video establishment. (lol, I kid.)
