Random quotations meme.

Because Julie tagged everyone:

The rules: "Go here and look through random quotes until you find 5 that you think reflect who you are or what you believe."

I'll add: Go with the first five that work for you (i.e., don't worry about getting global optima). It took me two bundles of quotations with the randomizer, but here's what I end up with:

"Only the curious will learn and only the resolute overcome the obstacles to learning. The quest quotient has always excited me more than the intelligence quotient." -Eugene S. Wilson

"The outcome of any serious research can only be to make two questions grow where only one grew before." -Thorstein Veblen (1857 - 1929)

"If you don't accept responsibility for your own actions, then you are forever chained to a position of defense." -Holly Lisle, Fire In The Mist, 1992

"Enjoy when you can, and endure when you must." -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)

"I am against using death as a punishment. I am also against using it as a reward." -Stanislaw J. Lec (1909 - 1966), Unkempt Thoughts

Julie already tagged y'all; your turn!

Due to work stuff, I'm very busy this week, and I don't have time to write a detailed pathological language post, so I chose something that doesn't take a lot of explanation, but
While browser over at programming.reddit.com, I came across something simultaneously hideous and amazing.
I saw it at Julie's.
"American Music," the Violent Femmes "California Stars," Billy Bragg and Wilco "The City of New Orleans," Arlo Guthrie "Song to Woody," Bob Dylan "The Body of an American," the Pogues

Oh yeah, first five. I could have been there all damn day if I hadn't stopped at the first five.
