The Vulva as a Child's Toy

Hang with me here on this one.

Marlowe's Cousin Shakespeare's Sister responds to a criticism of Nancy Pelosi with a little bit of feminist satire (reproduced below the fold): "No woman in the history of politics has used her womb like Nancy Pelosi.". Shakes (I think that's what the cool kids call her) Photoshops a woman's naughty bits complete with symbols of the evil liberal agenda -- pink triangles and rainbows (we're guessing she couldn't find any good pictures of sequins or ruby studded pinky rings).

What really got me about the feminist pussy, however, is what she included in place of the vulva. Now may be as a good of a time as any to show you the illustration. To do so, you'll need to click through below the fold.

Those stacked discs look a lot like the classic child's ring stack toy. You know, the one where you (or your infant) stack colorful tori (donut shapes) from smallest to largest around a white shaft . . . I'm really NOT trying to lay on the sexual innuendo real thick -- REALLY!! Honestly.

Coincidentally, the ring stack toy is a nice 3D model of the C. elegans vulva. (And it all comes full circle.) My university's local round worm developmental biologist likes to use this toy to demonstrate the structure of the vulva (her organ of study; shown left). It's hard to represent it on a PowerPoint slide -- where she's limited to two dimensions -- so she busts out the ring stack.

I wonder if Shakes is a developmental biologist in disguise.

The vulva is one of my favorite organs. Not only is it pretty and fun to manipulate, but how it responds tells us so much about its owner. And it is just amazing how much we're learning about it now. Don't worry about clicking to read more…this article is full of pictures, but it is entirely work…
I couldn't resist. Shakespeare's Sister has a satirical post on the female reproductive tract as a source of gay rays, and evolgen chimes in, noting the similarity of her diagram to the nematode vulva (it's true—if mammalian vulvas are radiating gayness, nematodes are even more common; Ben Shapiro…
