Obama's Pastor Problem More Damaging than McCain-Bush?

Gallup has released a survey showing that at this point in the race, Obama's association with Wright may be potentially more damaging to his candidacy than McCain's continued embrace of Bush. The reason, as the survey details (below), is that the association with Wright actually hurts McCain among some Democrat leaners (19% say less likely to vote for Obama), whereas McCain's strong alliance with Bush has less of an impact among Republican leaners (10% less likely to vote for McCain).

In political advertising and messaging, you can expect both campaigns along with independent expenditure groups to play on these associations, making for powerful emotional imagery.

More like this

On his campaign website, Romney has listed ten incidents that supposedly mean McCain is unstable. Let's review them:
During Robert F. Kennedy's candidacy, he gave an anti-war speech at K-State. At this comparatively conservative outpost, the crowds went crazy. A speechwriter remembers looking at the wild crowd reaction and saying, "This is Kansas, fucking Kansas. He's going all the fucking way!"
Just the salient points. McCain does not want to spread the wealth around. Obama wants to cut the 15 billion dollar subsidy to insurance companies. Obama wants to invest in higher education.
So far I'm really liking Rachel Maddow's new MSNBC show. She reminds me a lot of what Keith Olbermann used to be (and sometimes still is).

Its the wrong comparison. They should be asking about McCain's association with Pastor Hagee, the recent Bush Sr. with the Reverend Moon, and whether scandals in the Evangelical churches, and the Catholic church, have stopped anyone from going to those churches.
