Some reader emailed me to explain that my secret identity has been blown. Well, you can read about it here. But note that I'm staying positive. Remember, Clay sold more than Reuben. Yes, I love science, but singing is my soul!

The last two days (here and here), you lovely commenters and I have been bantering about legacy media's reluctance to use the original literature citation in print or online coverage of science, medicine, and health stories. The discussion has drawn input from working writers as well as scientists…
Science as it is practiced today relies on a fair measure of trust. Part of the reason is that the culture of science values openness, hypothesis testing, and vigorous debate. The general assumption is that most scientists are honest and, although we all generally try to present our data in the…
The series of interviews with some of the participants of the 2008 Science Blogging Conference was quite popular, so I decided to do the same thing again this year, posting interviews with some of the people who attended ScienceOnline'09 back in January.
Today, I asked one of my SciBlings and…
Over at the new Seed blog, here on ScienceBlogs, Katherine Sharpe asks about the best science books ever (a topic that was also discussed at Cosmic Variance some time back.
I've been sort of swamped this week, but that's only part of the reason why I haven't responded. The main reason is a shameful…

interesting article
1. the contest looks like a " Bangladesh Idol"
2. "chairperson of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd, Sanjeev Mehta" - hmmm
I trust we aren't losing you from science to the fleshpots of the entertainment industry...
wow, you're cute!
wow, you're cute!
the "female gaze" is not appropriate in this "safe space."
The small, black & white rectangular vertical at the upper-left corner of the blog page looks more masculine, determined & intelligent than the photos posted above, imho. Also, the frontals appear steeper there, for some reason. I'm all mixed up now?:()
Very confusing.
Reading the vague few sentences above, I had no reason to think that you were joking. Clicking on the article however made it seem as if you clearly were joking. Realizing that commentors seem to be taking your note seriously, coupled with the fact that your note seemed serious enough and the fact that the little pic in the upper left of this blog could be that guy in the photo, leaves me... unsure.
Clearly I could do a little more research online to come up with a better estimate as to the seriousness of your post here but right now I'm just unsure. The whole thing really seems just so ridiculous that I feel like a bit of a fool to consider it, but hey, I don't know you from Adam.
What's my honest best guess? If I had to put every last cent I had down on one of the two options? Well I know that I want to say "no" as I'm afraid that I'll look like a fool if I do take you seriously and it turns out that I've been had. That being the case in a 50/50 approximation when I recognize my bias in one direction I figure that bias is probably giving a 40%er an extra few percent so I go with the other - which in this case would be to say yes.
All the same however, all of my money on one of the two, I'm going with no, you're joking. (But I'm only, like 55% there) Did I win?
naked-minded mnuez
But damn does it look like that happy guy bears a resemblance to the fella in the upper left!
One of the pictures posted above now appears at the upper left in place of the usual.
Spectacles can alter ones appearance significantly & this young man isn't wearing any.
He does exibit pretty wide parietals, though - something i've noticed that intelligent men often have. The young man or men who own this site have no obligation to anyone to disclose their physical appearance to the web-community & is perfectly reasonable. It may or may not be authentic.
My money would be on the new picture...
oh, also on the old spectacled one
was the original pic on the upper left you? if so, the razib above def. isn't - he seems to be missing a birthmark
xD
I had the impression the young man in previous photograph was somewhat tone-deaf, although i forget where or how i acquired it. The young man in the current picture is a music lover based on the information on the page above with the larger but same photo.
Just trying to play gumshoe:)
So sorry you didn't win, Razib. At least you're an idol now for teen girls who aren't interested in the human sciences? ;)
Yeah, sorry to hear the sad news - I for one know how much you wanted this to happen, how much you wanted to get that recording deal signed...
But there'll always be another contest, fear not...
You are a month to early for April 1.
I meant you are a month too late for April 1.
Boy, you scientific types really don't let go of a joke now do ya? Is this an experiment in credulity or something? And if so, did I pass?
