Check out Julian Sanchez's v-log. I agree with the general thrust of his critique, but I'm also intrigued by the possibilities of turning v-logs into mini-Daily Shows as he does with the video splicing here (I assume he didn't spend a lot of time on this). I don't think it is really appropriate for science because it isn't like scientists normally are talking about their work on TV all the time, but perhaps when it comes to something with stem cell policy and the occasional "panel discussions" you see it might be interesting and funny.

The three way debate/discussion on science and politics hosted by the Smith Family Foundation on Tuesday night was an interesting event, to say the least. I type this during the last act of TAM London, Alan Moore, who is being gnomic in a basso north English working-class accent. Interesting character, a little perversely irrational ("I worship a 2nd century snake goddess") while leaving no doubt that he's keen as a whip.
The day began with a talk by…
I'm not a Ron Paul fan (I find his borderline big-L Libertarianism annoying, even when it leads to sensible things like voting against the Iraq war), but like Sanchez, man do I love him being in that debate.
well, paul is not beholden to the unofficial cease fire amongst the candidates to let bullshit stand in the interests of allowing a thousand cow-pies to bloom since he presumably doesn't think he has any chance of being elected.
