Georgia. John Edwards love-child. Olympics. Bernie & Isaac. A lot happens when you aren't paying attention in this big world....

Edwards' follies are likely to hurt Democratic chances in November and further derail media attention from issues that really matter. Tonight on ABC Nightline, John Edwards will admit his affair but will deny the alleged love child, putting even more of a twist on the brewing media tsunami. As I…
A lot of people don't like Lyndon Rush, the Christian zealot who also happens to be a bobsledder in the Olympics. I think he's wonderful. It's so helpful to have someone like him openly demonstrating that Christians are morons.* You know there's no atheist in a foxhole, right? There's no atheist at…
This is it. Don't mess this up. It isn't that common that a single event can have a cascading effect on so many things. And if it does, such an event would not be that likely to have an entirely negative effect on all it touches. But, the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States…
Chris at Mixing Memory has a post about correlating one's favorite music with one's personality. Learn just what a fuddy-duddy I am by reading this list: Saint-Saens, Symphony #3 (the "Organ Symphony") Beethoven, Symphony #7 (esp. the 2nd movement) Dvorak, the "New World" Symphony (#9) Schubert,…

What's your opinion of the whole Georgia mess? I'm really divided...

While Israel was recently bombing Lebanon, killing many civilians in Beirut, the USA stayed away from the "conflict" and said Israel, as an independent country, has all the rights to defend its borders. However, we knew that Israel is a country without certain borderlines.

Then Russians attack Georgia, and the USA claims to Russia "respect to Georgian borders". Russia responds as "we are doing this for the southern Ossetia's totality".

However, neither Ossetia nor Georgia and Israel have distinct borders. They are in the same shoe when it comes to the autonomy (since 1991).

Besides, two of the countries above are occupants of Chechnya and Afghanistan.

And then the USA indirectly criticizes Russia for screwing things up this obviously.

How many controversies are out there? I lost the track.

Altogether would make two seasons of 24, that's for sure.

At last, you do good by not paying attention.

The comparison between Israel's invasion of southern Lebanon and the Russian invasion of Georgia are in no way comparable. The circumstances surrounding the two are entirely different.

Yeah, I know. Depending on where you are looking from, things might look differently. Perception is a funny thing.
