Researcher Can't Find Men Who Have Not Seen Porn:
A new study on the effects of pornography has just started, but there is already one revealing find: the researcher could not find any men who have not viewed pornography. The study will proceed without a control group consisting of men who have not viewed pornography.

The first iteration of this post engendered quite a bit of discussion. Some of it within the scope of what I initially wrote about; much of it not.
I closed the comments and un-published the post while I considered what to do about it. I've decided to go ahead and re-publish the post, stripped of…
A study that tried to analyze how pornography affected men's views ran into an unfortunate problem: no control group. It seems there does not exist a population of males that doesn't see some porn regularly. Still, they went ahead and at least got some shaky numbers on porn viewing habits.

Once again, I bravely plunge into the fascinating world of kinky sex research in humans. This time, we learn something incredibly useful. Gentleman, would you like to know how to improve the potency of your semen? Do you need a good excuse to give your significant other when she catches you…
I'm not sure what to write about this, but I feel a need to write something. There has been an interesting and infuriating discussion going on at Jason and Zuska's blogs.
Jason, whose posts on learning and cognition rock, started the discussion with an examination of a small amount of scientific…
Back in the 90's when the Internet was new I helped people get their modems connected. That often required a "house call". One of the calls was to get the blind guy's computer speakers working so he could download audio porn.

if the local culture had a similar pre-existing slang for father, might this have influenced the slang for a soft drink?
soda -|- dad (not sure where "dad" derived from)
pop -|- pop/pa (derived from pater/father)

It seems the researchers problem isn't really finding people who haven't seen porn. As ubiquitous as it is in our society I'd still be amazed that there wouldn't be kids raised in conservative homes such that they didn't see any. Howerever look at the selection bias. The researchers want people who haven't seen porn but will start to view it to guage effect. But almost by definition the kind of people who haven't seen porn today (difficult to avoid) are the least likely to enter into such a study. Since the study requires them to become porn viewers
