The day was dominated by the previously mentioned birthday party for The Pip, so it only makes sense to have the photo of the day be an action shot from said party:
I'm a relatively light sleeper. The ear-piercing klaxons that are most alarm clock buzzers are way more than necessary to get me out of bed, and even most music stations are more than I want to deal with abruptly when I'm trying to work up the will to leave warm comfort to go to a day's work.
Curiosity landed on Mars last night (I assume you were watching). Well, the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter managed to take a picture of Curiosity with its parachute! This is so cool. Look:
"So he experimented with oiling the hard drive. Hypothesis: Rejected."
Talk about a *null* hypothesis :)
