Well, the Face Book Thing seems to be going fairly well. Scienceblogs.com fanclub now has hundreds of members. My own site has a paltry ten or so, but growing. I hope soon to have eleven. I've been going through the Scienceblogs.com fan club list and begging folks from my old home town (Albany, NY), or who are in Minnesota to be my friends. So far most of them are ditching me. I can see that the life of a stalker would be a depressing one.
Anyway, I think something will happen soon. We'll be notified by the organizers and I'll pass the information on. I think we are all supposed to meet in Chicago or something.

I think I have a profile on Friendster - I don't know, I haven't checked since 2003. I have bare-bones profiles on MySpace, LinkedIn and Change.Org and I will get an e-mail if you "friend" me (and will friend you back), but I do not have time to spend on there. I refuse to even look at all the…

... or something. I'll be here, on strike.
There appears to be a bit of a work action on Scienceblogs.com, and it appears that I'm going along with it. I'm doing this to make one point, and only one point.
Before I make that point I want to make a few other comments.
1) Although I agree with…
Yes, the book. My Job in 10 Years: The Future of Academic Libraries.
To rewind a bit, the story begins this past January. I did a little off-the-cuff post on how libraries could model their web presences on commercial book-related sites like Tor.com or the Globe & Mail Books site. It ended…
Greg,
Whilst I've only used it twice, clik on "Friends" and then "Friend Finder".
You can search through your address book to see which of them are already signed up to Fb and then send out friend invites.
Chicago sounds nice but there is just no way I could make it. Do you see anything here in Minnesota, or are we all ready too privileged by having both you and PZ within a few hours drive?
Actually, I don't know of anything specific that is happening. Nor do I know how to do it. Do you?
I very much look forward to a SB/MN intersection meet up. Some of my favorite people are in that overlapping set.
It seems to happen whenever one of the Fellers from the Disco Institute comes to town. We should have John West back for a return trip.
Well, actually, it happens when PZ comes to town. We should find out when the next time he's coming to town is. Probably it says on his facebook page???
His sdhedule is posted on Pharyngula (it's a link to the UMM schedule.)_ I don't have a chance to look at it right now, but he actually uses it.
He ain't sceered of nobody!
Greg, it's "Facebook" not "Face Book".
(I am just being a bit mean/picky because I live in London and there is no way I will ever make it to any such meetings...)
