This is getting frustrating. Your help needed.

Devorah Bennu is the pseudonym for the pseudonymous blogger kown as Grrrrrrrl Scientist, of Living the Scientific Life. In the ongoing contest to send a blogger to Antarctica, she has sat in third place, just a few dozen votes behind Don Osmond (who is, indeed, related to the original Mormon Singer, Donny Osmond) for several weeks now.

Now, I have to tell you, I have a lot of friends and colleagues who are in this contest, and I'd love to root for ALL of them, but Devora is the only one with a chance of taking out the two people who are ahead of her, and she very much deserves to go to Antarctica. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

Can we please cough up a couple of hundred votes for her now, to push past Don, and then, maybe you should visit this blog post at Pharyngula and remind people there (by leaving a comment) that the Pharyngulistas have a job to do!?!?

Thank you very much.

Dude she's crazy. Would it be a good idea?

Person - I hope that is some misguided attempt at humor, otherwise it is just ugly and uncalled for.

I was one of the early voters - of course I want to send grrlscientist to the frozen wastelands (as long as she comes back in good shape). I've run out of people to nag though; being a hermit does have its down side. I'll tell 'er to write to PZ and ask him to remind his evil hordes about the contest. She's got a long way to go to beat the radio jock from Portugal though.

John, you are not the first person to suggest that, nor will you be the last. I ask you the following questions:

1) How is your hypothesis different than the multiregional hypothesis as articulated by various prior researchers; and

2) Can you provide a few examples of other mammal species where this has occurred?

"Do I understand that Devorah Bennu is also a pseudonym?"

That was a joke.

"Why is it that there are so many Darwinists who insist on hiding their identity?"

They don't. On this blog, the vast majority of anti-evolution, anti-darwin comments are from pseudonymous commenters.

"What are they afraid of? "

Well, certainly not you.

The fact that you know nothing of the multiregional hypothesis yet are talking about it shows me that you need to learn a LOT ore before you would be competent to start explaining human evolution to other people.

The fact that you have not addressed my second question suggests that you don't have an answer to it, which pretty much kills your theory.

That was a trap? Then why'd it read like a poorly designed ad campaign for a blog? "Come talk to me there. Come read my theories there."

Hard up for hits, Davison?

John, I asked you two questions. One to establish that you had some familiarity with the pertinent literature. You don't. The second to bring in a very important point that must be addressed for your idea to have legs. You didn't address it.

"Like your many cronies you are no longer worthy of my attention."

I love the phycho talk! But I don't believe it. You'll be back. You have a total crush on me.

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." - Albert Einstein

I have no need to return as you have allowed me to present my science which was my purpose all along.

Well, you did return, just now. And I'm sure you'll be back!

Anyway, I do hope people click the link to your site and explore your ideas more.

Never heard about "multiregional hypothesis" but I would bet this the concept rests firmly on "natural selection" mantra.

Professor Davison claims in his Manifesto that as soon as sexual reproduction in a given species is established the evolution is over. He listed quite intersting information regarding non-homology of germ cells in species which are believed to have "common ancestor".

As professor Davison mentioned, the whole idea of "natural selection" is an unproven speculation. NS just removes extremities and doesn't play any role in creative evolution.

John, you do realize, don't you, that the only reason I'm letting you comment here is because of the little joke I'm playing on you?

Keep it coming! I know you're obsessed with me and can't walk away. The only way you are EVER going to stop commenting on my blog is if I stop you. You can't stop yourself. You are in love with me. You are addicted to me.

Someday you'll figure out what I've done to you and you'll get a lawyer and sue me.

VMartin, you don't know what the multiregional hypothesis is either, do you? If you did, you'd be very embarrassed about tossing it out because it is "Darwinian." It isn't.

The Multiregional Hypothesis argues that our earliest hominid ancestors radiated out from Africa and Homo sapiens evolved from several different groups of Homo erectus in several places throughout the world.

True or not, the reasoning goes along darwinian pathways. I would be surpised if someone from multiregionalists challenged the schema of natural selection. The only naturalistic explanations are allowed, however far-fetched they might be.

Obviously monoregionalists and multiregionalists pursue their "science" wihout greater impact on public. I read that 70% US population believes that homo sapiens was created in last 10.000 years.

"Evolutinary biologists" are pretty nervous from such statistics. They do not realize that their explanation is the most bizzare fantasy - human has arisen from an ancient fish by random mutation!

John, as soon as I find Glen I'll ask him.

I am not in love with you

Oh, yes you are. That is why you can't stop commenting here. You keep saying good bye, that this or that is your last comment, but you can't bring yourself to stop. The only way for you to stop is if I stop you, because you can't do it yourself.

I was wondering why you are so angry. Now, I realize why. You angry with yourself, probably for many things, but at the moment, for being obsessed with me and this blog.

"You also are...supremely confident that I am a fool."

You have provided us with enough evidence, to be fair.

Glen thanks you for your insights. Greg Laden has tired of your bullshit and asks you to not come back to his blog.

But he does appreciate all the opportunities to alter your web addresses so the point to Talk Origins and NCSE and such like.

@Fluppy the Wonder Whelk

"Are you talking to Fred the Bulbous Squidge or to John A. Davison?"

Neither, Greg was talking to you, Fluppy.

That's Greg, not Glen, but Greg.

Got that? Get someone to write that down for you!

"No matter what you do, I win, you lose."

Only in your own deranged mind.

Fluppy, once again you betray the fact that you have no idea how blogs work. We are now commenting on a post from September 2009. Nobody is reading this (which, incidentally, is why I'm a little less worried about feeding the troll than I would be otherwise).

Fluppy, you complain about being insulted and being banished. These things happen to you because of the way you act on forums such as these. You come across as completely barking mad. That isn't an insult, it's the truth (note lack of upper case "T"). There is no witch-hunt, there is no conspiracy. It's all in your head.

PS Greg, if you don't want to add this to the thread I will fully understand, and apologise for wasting your time in the process.

@Fluppy the Wonder Whelk

Sorry, no one is aware of these silly comments at the end of this thread because very few people read your blog. For all your wittering, you need blogs like Greg's to gain an audience.

Also, despite your apparently random ramblings, it is only you I am insulting - nobody else but you.

I will now take up no more of Greg's time by adding to this thread, as I'm sure he has better things to do than listen to us bicker.
