Hitler gets mad at Obama

This is really, really funny:

Well, actually, it's not even a little funny...

... Well, actually, the punchline is the funniest thing I've see yet this year. I can hardly type I'm laughing so hard.

I wouldn't say that I'm the funniest person I know - unless, of course, people laughing at you counts as being 'funny'. I'm one of those people who occasionally has good moments, but really, I'm funniest when I don't intend to be. Like that one time I was making fun of a friend's over-exposed…
Or, on the other hand, this may be a good thing: You know about the [ooh.. something spooky just happened. tell you later] Adolph Hitler video memes, where conversation about pretty much anything (the new iPod, the latest ballgame, whatever) is superimposed over german dialog from Downfall (the…
I watched part of the movie Punchline last night. I don't know if anyone remembers this movie. I'm guessing Tom Hanks wishes no one does, as it's one of the few really bad movies of his career. It's a movie about stand up comedy that doesn't have a single funny line in it. And it's intended to show…

This is an excellent example of why one must always wait for the end!

I had a very mixed attitude about this Downfall parody. On the one hand it has some pretty funny moments. ("and to point at a map like this.") The punchline was also witty.

But part of the humor of the Downfall meme is the incongruity. The "Hitler" isn't a stand in for a group accused of spewing hate or propaganda. In this case, there seems to be an almost implicit Godwin's Law going on. It seems like there are actual political opponents being compared to Nazis in this even if just implicitly. That's not cool.

Joshua - If you do not lighten up, you will be forced to go to the Comedy Re Education Camp and undergo a re-grooving dude!

Josh: It is helpful to contextualize this. I'm posting two other videos by the same person (tomorrow?) which may do that. Or, you can click through to YouTube and watch them. The Republican Homeland one is highly recommended. You will pee in your pants laughing, and that pee will wash away all concern regarding the Hitler=Opposition link.
