It is certainly true that "You Lie!" took over the news cycle following the President's message to Congress, effectively distracting from it. However, is there any evidence to support the notion that it was a conspiracy, and not the act of a Lone Dickhead?
Are you hinting that Wilson deliberately provoked this little scandal to propel himself from his former nobody status to becoming the darling of the right? How cynical!
This seems unlikely. Since it has mainly backfired, I have trouble believing that this was deliberate. The response over the next 24 hours by Wilson and his colleagues was also very uncoordinated which is hard to reconcile with a deliberate plan.
