If Lieberman is against the public option (that 65% of Americans want) when it comes to a vote, then he should be stripped of all senate privileges by the Democrats.
It is quite disappointing that his "short answer" wasn't "yes." He could still have claimed that their friendship persists.
I've always felt that running-mate Lieberman played more of a role in Gore's loss than is ever admitted in the blame-it-on-Clinton-&-Monica popular scenario. It was such a patently political choice; and it hampered dialogue because to reproach Lieberman was somehow to besmirch Judaism, a totally extraneous subject but one that ate up way too much air-time.
Not to mention the fact that Cheney just ate him up in the debates.
