We've had a creationist named "biasevolution" babbling away in the comments. He's not very bright and he's longwinded, always a disastrous combination, and he tends to echo tedious creationist tropes that have been demolished many times before. But hey, I'm indefatigable, I can hammer at these…
The city of Nara, near Kyoto, is full of temples and shrines dating back to the eigth centruy, when it was briefly the capital of Japan. One of the largest shrines in the city, the Kasuga Taisha shrine, is dedicated to deities that use deer as their sacred messengers. As a result, deer are allowed…
In the effort to help us define a few basic concepts, PZ started out by giving us a nice simple definition of a gene, but as he, rightly noted: I tell you right now that if I asked a half dozen different biologists to help me out with this, they'd rip into it and add a thousand qualifiers, and it…

Hell I have cPanel/WHM on my server so I use ConfigServer Security and Firewall handles IPTables and much more. You don't need cPanel/WHM for it but if you have it it integrates nicely into the WHM GUI and makes life ever so much easier. It will do roughly a 115 point security check and tell you what needs doing (and in most cases how to do it) very nice script.
