Creationists Behaving Badly

The user VenomfangX, famous (or infamous, depending on your perspective) for his videos supporting creationism and against atheism, has yet again filed false DMCA notices against several of his critics. He did this before against another YouTube user, Thunderf00t (of the Why People Laugh at Creationists series, among other things), who forced VFX to issue an apology and read a statement outlining his new understanding of DMCA law.

Ah, the weird, wild world of the interwebs, where one actually finds people calling themselves "VenomFangX" and "Thunderf00t" squaring off to do battle. VenomFangX is one of the lower denizens of Youtube, a creationist notorious for the arrogant confidence with which he states the ridiculous and…
If there is one aspect of cranks that is almost universal (besides the aforementioned tendency to want to prove themselves through things like "live televised debates"), it's a tendency to want to shut down the criticism of its opposition. True, such a tendency is a human trait as well and used far…
A little spat that John McCain is having with YouTube has gotten a bit of press lately. Basically, he's not happy because YouTube has been taking his videos down whenever they get a Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown notice from a copyright holder. Apparently, this has happened to McCain…
At the last couple of talks I've given out here on the west coast, I've begun by introducing the appalling ignorance and illogic of creationist arguments. I think I have a new favorite example. To summarize: God ordered the soldiers of the Hebrews to march around Jericho 6 times on 6 days, which…

It's ironic that a creationist has "venom" and "fang" for the nickname, as adaptations of biological warfare do not make sense if the garden of Eden, with no death, was the real intended habitat for YHVH's creations.

If I was home, I'd send the link that one blogger put up, where another YouTube user had communicated with VenomFangX's family and gave more info on the situation. The kid does seem like a sad case. I do feel sorry for his family. It's a long statement, something like 6-minutes, but I can't remember where I found it, but I'm sure anyone can search for it. I'm surprised that YouTube hasn't suspended his account permanently for his actions, though.

This has been an interesting episode in the saga which is VenomFangX (PCS - Posterboy for Creationist Stupidity).

My channel received 4 false DMCA take down orders on videos which were critical of him. I filed counter-notifications and the videos were available again within 48 hours (along with an apology from YouTube! Shock).

What - his mommy let him use the internet again? I wonder how long before he's grounded yet again.

I also feel really bad for his parents. I dont think any person who truly believes in his cause would threaten his parents, as VFX has claimed. In fact, I think we universally sympathize and empathize with his parents, who have done much thus far to correct this problem. According to the video linked by Badger3k above (comment #4), his parents strongly oppose him. I love that they will not help him in any way should he find himself in legal trouble as a result of his own actions.
