A small church has collapsed in northeast D.C.

Officials say no one was inside the Joshua Temple Firstborn Church on Sheriff Road this afternoon when a tree fell onto the roof of the church and the weight of the tree and snow made the roof collapse.

God is punishing these people for a reason. We just need to figure out why by reference to scripture and historical analysis. Like this.

I'm starting the wonder if I should change the name of this blog to "The Ornery Undergraduate" given my experience at Rutgers. Today there was a snow/ice storm, and I had little choice but to walk home in it. I can somewhat understand why Rutgers did not close down the university this afternoon,…
Boat Hill, where I live since two years back, is a 70s tract-housing estate where roofs are almost flat. Snow thus tends to build up on them. Of course, pile enough snow onto any structure and it will collapse. But I've come across a curious notion here. Several neighbours have told me to beware…
Somehow I'm not in the mood for a heavy post today. So how about an essay on another of my favorite topics: Locked Room mysteries. Here are the first two paragraphs of what I regard as the finest detective story ever written: To the murder of Professor Grimaud, and later the equally incredible…

God wants them to build a bigger and better church with the hard-earned money of the church-goers. And this is all in preparation for the Rapture, which should be coming soon.

I've long noted that Tornado Alley runs right through the middle of the Babble Belt, thus proving Yahweh's intolerance of bigotry and intolerance.

Oh come on, you know exactly how this one will be played: god performed a miracle by making sure nobody was in the church when it collapsed. Praise be Jeebus!
