Putting Open Source to the Mom Test I stumbled across Amber's blog by accident today - she's writing a series of posts that document her experience installing and using Linux distros and a variety of open source applications.
Yesterday I outlined a few reasons to think that we may not actually forget all of our earliest memories; instead, they may merely be mislabeled due to a failure of source monitoring.

Youngest was totally geeked when I took him into a multi-mirror, see your back spot in a clothing store. I would love to see his reaction to that room. Even at two, I think it would be hilarious big fun.

He also really loved to look in a mirror while being held. He figured out that he was seeing an image of whoever was holding him, but didn't get that the image was him (or at least this is what we suspect, he wouldn't say). He would whip his head back and forth between the mirror, whoever had him and trying to figure out where that baby in the mirror was. This was a great way to get him to stop fussing almost instantly when he was upset.
